Mustard Seed (Lesotho) Society

Core Activities:

The Society is a public, not for profit organization focused on serving God through serving others. We will do this by providing information, services and resources to enable disadvantaged girls and young woman, specifically those who have been orphaned, to enhance and improve their current and future situations; offering them hope for a future of greater promise and opportunity. Information, services and resources to be provided to or on behalf of disadvantaged girls and young women will include:

  • Information relating to their rights and to services available to them.
  • Information and training to equip and support them to make wise and healthy life choices.
  • Assistance to access funding and other supports to enable them: to further their formal education, or to acquire income generation skills.
  • Provision of and/or support to homes or places where girls and young women can live in safety, and where they are nurtured both physically and emotionally.
  • Raising awareness and promoting concern for the needs and issues faced by disadvantaged girls and young women.

Activities in Lesotho:

  • referrals and assisstance to caregivers and girl orphans of up to 17 years of age.
  • Support to caregiver to apply for moti bursary

 

 

Future Plans:

  • Extend programs above
  • Provide safe accommodation for girl orphans who don’t have a safe place to stay
  • Extend support and srevices to some rural areas

Needs of Organisation:

  • Need office space and a consistent place for training.
  • Need funding
