Care of OVC–Orphanage

Care of 23 children from ages 1 1/2 to 17 years old.
18 children attend school locally.

Activities in Lesotho:

All are fed, clothed and cared for by ‘M’e Maletseka with the help of five other adults.
3 children are HIV positive and are brought to the clinic for regular health care check ups. The health care of the children is provided for.

Chicken project for income generation.

Future Plans:

To build a larger facility for the children. Hoping to begin construction in April 2009.
Tree planting at the orphanage.
To expand the chicken project to sell more eggs.
To purchase pigs for income generation.

About Letsema

HIV and AIDS have had a heavy toll on the children and young people of Lesotho.
Letsema is a Sentebale progamme whose mission is to transform the lives of Lesotho’s orphans and vulnerable children by working as a coordinated network of organisations.

Letsema Members work together to provide a variety of services, ranging from education, residential care, HIV and AIDS treatment and prevention, and others . We want to give hope to these young people and bring joy back into their lives.
