Core Activities:
The Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) expands access to paediatric treatment by supporting governments as they scale up national treatment programs to include increasing numbers of paediatric patients. The Clinton Foundation also works to reduce the cost of pediatric ARV formulations and supports the training of paediatric care providers and the development of paediatric protocols.
Activities in Lesotho:
-Rural Initiative: Support the MOHSW in the decentralization of HIV/AIDS care and treatment and TB services as well as primary health care in rural Lesotho
-Clinical Mentoring: Scale up the national ART program for both adults and children through one-on-one mentoring of health care providers
-Laboratory Services: Strengthen Lesotho’s overall laboratory system and increase access to diagnostic services – specifically relating to HIV/AIDS
-Procurement and Supply Chain Management: Provides technical assistance to the MOHSW on HIV/AIDS procurement and supply chain related issues
-Nursing Initiative: Support the MOHSW in strengthening the human resource capacity for quality health service delivery
-PMTCT: Support to MOHSW to strengthen district and national health systems that will support a decrease in the mother-to-child transmission rate
