Core Activities:
Twinning the Kingdoms, which began in mid-2005, links the people of the Kingdom of Kerry in Ireland with the people of the Kingdom of Lesotho to work towards the United Nations Millennium Goals.
Activities in Lesotho:
- In Maputsoe and surrounding villages, to support community development through the building of community development centres and associated activities
- Financial contributions to food for OVCs and others
- Linking of schools with those in Kerry (e.g. St Monicas Primary School, Morate English Medium High School, Kolonyama)
- School building projects e.g. classrooms at St Monicas Primary School and Morate English Medium High School
- Disability project in conjunction with Skillshare International
- Artistic links e.g. with Meshu, Lesotho artist who has visited Kerry
- Support for local business development e.g. Setsoto Weaving in TY
- Support for local agricultural projects e.g. pig rearing in Ha Nyenye and Chonapase
- Support for womens enterprise e.g. making school uniforms, making felt crib figures, knitting group
- Support for marketing and sales of craft products
