We are a Christian and child focused organization. Children have always been at the center of World Vision ministry, especially those who are most vulnerable. World Vision has already made significant efforts to ensure child survival. World Vision Lesotho's goal is to promote the well-being of every child. It is the vision of World Vision that every child lives life in all its fullness. World Vision sees a present and a future where children have the opportunity and means to become all God meant them to be. Activities in Lesotho :
OVC Care and Support, HIV and AIDS prevention, advocacy, child sponsorship, health issues, nutrition, income generating activites, agriculture and food security.
Child protection and Advocacy: Partner with UNICEF, NGO-coalition and other stakeholders to advocate with and for children on their rights and participation. Train paralegals and other community based groups in child and gender related legal provisions to promote awareness and enable transformed relationships and just structures. Facilitate children's conferences and dialogue to amplify the voice of children in order to affect policy changes.
Livelihood and Food Security: Promote opportunities for micro-credit for small business development. Support small irrigation scale production, livestock production crop diversification (seed distribution), conservation farming, land reclamation. The focus will be on risk reduction and the promotion of asset recovery and creation. Households will be assisted to secure access to micro-nutrient-rich foods, improved household income.
Improve Access and Quality of Primary Education:
Support campaigns that
Collaborate with government of Lesotho and other partners in supporting OVC attain their education and career aspirations The target will include children with disabilities.
Health, Nutrition, Water and Sanitation:
Promote access to quality primary health care focusing on immunization, prompt treatment of pneumonia, reproductive health (antenatal and safe delivery practices). Promote access to safe water to prevent diarrhoea. Promote good nutrition of particularly under fives through breast-feeding, improved micronutrient intake, diversified diet as well as nutrition education. Contribute to the reduction of morbidity and mortality from other communicable diseases such as TB.
HIV and AIDS prevention and Care for Orphans and Vulnerable Children:
Contribute to the reduction of the impact of HIV and AIDS on children and their families. Improve the quality of life of orphans and vulnerable children through community care Coalitions. Support public policy reform to assure protection of the rights of PLWHAs, orphans.Train key Pastors at national level and in all WV supported program locales in Channels of Hope to reduce stigma and address the problem of concurrent/multiple sex partners which behavior has been determined a critical factor in the rising infection rate. Promote age appropriate life skills to 20% of 5-18 in all area development programs. Facilitate referrals for the prevention of mother to child transmission. Support the formation of Community Care Coalitions for effective community-led care for orphans and vulnerable children and the chronically in all WVLs supported program locales.

Provide support to 300,000 people at risk of hunger with livelihood emergency response interventions such as food rations, cash transfer and other relief development projects.

Funding:
World Vision Lesotho revenue come from three sources: Government grants, child sponsorship as well as other private funding. Some comes as cash while others as gifts in kind such as food commodities during drought, clothing etc. Our donors are AUSAID, USAID and Global fund. Other donors are World Vision United States, World Vision Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong-Kong, Korea, Canada and Switzerland.
