Lesotho: Approximately 80% of the blood donated to the
Lesotho Blood Transfusion Service comes from school children
(usually 16-23 years old).
Since this service has few regular donors, it visits schools around
the country. Usually, it holds sensitization sessions in the days /
weeks before the collection, so minors can ask for their parents
permission.
On a normal day in the state center, the service collects about 4-5
units of blood, and about 60 units during a day in a school.
Remember:
We are all concerned, since we might all need one day some blood
after surgeries, accidents, etc.
So, if you can, please donate blood!
