Core Activities:
Mission Aviation Fellowship is a Christian organisaiton whose mission is to fly light aircraft in developing countries so that people in remote areas can receive the help they need. Today worldwide, the MAF partnership operates over 130 aircraft from bases in 30 countries.

MAF provides travel and logistics to the mountains of Lesotho.

We have provided some technical expertise in VSAT communications for PIH at 8 mountain clinics.

For the last 6 years we have had a team that teaches AIDS and HIV education, awareness, care for terminally ill, and income generating projects in the remote areas of the mountains.
Activities in Lesotho :
Since 1980, MAF has provided safe, efficient air transportation for Lesotho’s Flying Doctor Service. Currently, MAF serves 12 rural mountain health posts from 27 dirt airstrips carved into the nation’s rugged mountains. Nearly 200,000 people depend solely on the Flying Doctor Service for medical care. MAF also provides communications services to NGOs including maintaining HF radio networks and providing technical support MAF services also enable the work of African Inland Mission (AIM), Southern Baptist Mission, Church of the Nazarene, and Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM).
Future Plans:
  • We currently have 5 aircraft. If during the coming year, needs for transportation increase. We made add another aircraft.
  • We hope in the next 2 years to build a larger hanger to meet the needs of work going on in the mountains.
  • We hope to start a program with youth on aids education, awareness, and life skills.

Funding:
  • Families each raise their own support e.g. Vennell family has a donor base of 110 supporters from 23 states in the USA.
  • The aircraft are also funded in a similar way.
