Core Activities:
Mission statement is to improve the quality of human life to enhance self-reliance and concern for others; and to help people avoid, prepare for and cope with emergencies. This is achieved through principles of the internal Red Cross Movement. Activities - Home based care, care for OVC, disaster management, first aid services, food security, water reservation and sanitation projects.
- To mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS amongst OVC and their immediate family members.
- To provide and promote a protective and enabling environment for OVC.
- To provide immediate care and support to OVC at community level while promoting community support and ownership.
- To provide and promote psychosocial support and access to health.
Activities in Lesotho :
- Water and sanitation in seven project areas for 32,000 people
- Youth clubs for 12,500 OVC
- Material support for 12,500 OVC
- Income generating projects for 12,500 OVC
- Access to health and pediatric ART for 213 OVC
- Provision of shelter for 400 head of households
Future Plans:
Integrate OVC program and provide holistic support for 12,500 OVC in seven project areas using multi-bilateral funding.
