Core Activities:
The Kananelo Centre for the Deaf strives to be a self-sustaining facility, which provides quality education and living standards for students with special needs. This is achieved by providing students with academic, social, emotional, spiritual opportunities as well as active participation of the Ha Buasono community.
The centre provides 55 deaf children between the ages of 5-18 years with primary education and vocational training in a boarding school setting in which the national curriculum is taught in sign language.

Activities in Lesotho :
Current activities at the Kananelo Centre include teaching normal education curriculum in sign language, handwork such as sewing, knitting, beadwork, gardening, and external activities like soccer and netball with outward bound group, Lesotho Durham Link, as well as income generation activities including broiler chickens and piggery.
The Centre fundraises for infrastructure and staff housing, and continues to strive for increased involvement of parents and community members in daily running of the Centre.

Future Plans:
The Kananelo Centre hopes to adopt Lesotho's primary curriculum, develop social and physical recreation programs for students, and to establish a high school with craft and vocational training for deaf students in Lesotho.
