The Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) expands access to paediatric treatment by supporting governments as they scale up national treatment programs to include increasing numbers of paediatric patients. The Clinton Foundation also works to reduce the cost of pediatric ARV formulations and supports the training of paediatric care providers and the development of paediatric protocols.

The government of Lesotho has partnered with the Clinton Foundation to commit to a strong paediatric AIDS treatment program, which includes scaling up the number of health clinics actively offering paediatric HIV/AIDS services; strengthening the decentralization of paediatric HIV/AIDS services; improving the paediatric ART knowledge and comfort level of health care workers; creating national paediatric ART guidelines and protocols; and procuring paediatric ARVs and related commodities and supplies for the country.
