Core Activities:
Formerly Mants'ase Children's Home UK, Msizi Africa still works with Mants'ase to:
  • provide nutritious food and access to medical care
  • maintain the upkeep of the buildings and grounds for a safe and clean environment

Msizi Africa also works to advance educaiton, preserve and protect the financial hardship of children in Africa by assisting in the provision of grants and money, goods, services or facilities.
Activities in Lesotho :
In 2007, Mants'ase Children's Home UK was registered with the UK Charity Commission to benefit children living at Mants'ase Children's Home in the south of the country, by a volunteer who had spent four months with the children in 2006. Having successfully provided the children with nutritious food and a new dormitory and ablution block, founder Lucy Caslon realised the remit of the charity could be extended to care for more children. MCHUK has been rebranded as Msizi Africa and the charity's key aim is to provide nutritious food to improve the lives of orphans and vulnerable children. Whilst the newly rebranded charity is now also working in South Africa and Zambia, Msizi Africa would be delighted to hear from organisations caring for orphans and vulnerable children in Lesotho who are in need of assistance with the provision of food - in particular long term feeding programmes rather than immediate and urgent assistance. Initial requests for assistance should be addressed to lucy.caslon@msiziafrica.org.uk and Lucy and her colleagues will follow up with you in due course, and if appropriate, visit your organisation in February 2009.
