Facilitate the development of Lesotho, working towards achieving the Vision 2020 goals.
Activities in Lesotho :
Government Funded National Policies to address the care and needs of OVC:
  • Child Cash Grants
  • School Feeding Programme
  • OVC Bursaries

Please note that these projects are done by other ministries, the role of the Ministry of Finance and Development is financing, monitoring and evaluation.
Future Plans:
DDP will be leading on drafting of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2011-2016. The Plan will mainstream key cross cutting issues that Lesotho faces, including HIV and AIDS, gender, environment and OVC, whilst developing a strategy for sectoral policies to work towards achieving the growth of Lesotho, poverty reduction, Vision 2020 goals and the MDGs.

Our plan is to take OVC to schools that provide better education. We are working hard to avoid these schools that provide free education and food at the same time we are focusing on schools that provide quality education to children.
Needs of Organisation:
Financial resources to expand our trainings and daily activities.

Training Needs:
Training in home based care and counseling.
Training on how to handle OVC and HIV/AIDS patients.
