- To unite all the youth and students of Lesotho regardless of political and religious conviction or sex
- To act as an independent forum from which the youth of Lesotho will in one voice express their interests and aspirations and to actively participate in public forum
- To fight for the rights and empowerment of youth throughout all levels of social organisation
- To campaign for the awareness, respect and observationif the universal human rights as enshrined in the universal declaration of human rights of the United Nations by government and society
Activities in Lesotho :
- Lobby and advocacy: the role of the federation will be to amplify the voice of the voiceless.

- To back up youth groups in all respects to improve the performance

- To see the Federation responding positively to its member organisations
