Core Activities:
LNFODs goal is to unify disability groups fighting for social change. Its mission is to support siabled peoples organizations and empower their members with life-skills, financial and material resources and to represent their needs to the government, development partners and wider society.
Specific activities includes:
1.Advocacy: LNFOD advocates for the basic human rights of people with disabilities within communities. This is done in all 10 districts of Lesotho.
2. Community Based Rehabilitation: This program includes leadership training with persons living with disabilities. LNFOD organizes workshops to help people living with disabilities in self - representation, advocacy, and to learn life skills. Income generation programs include skills-building projects as well as referrals for services such as social welfare, medical equipment, etc. In Mafeteng, this program works in two wards: Tebang and Matelile. In Leribe, LNFOD supports the St. Pauls School for the Deaf which caters to more than 400 deaf students.
3. Centres: LNFOD supports several centers for the disabled which serve as boarding schools for children with disabilities. The centres teach life skills. The two current centres, run by LNFOD member, LNAPD, include the Itjareng and MBTC centres in Maseru district.

HIV and AIDS Activities
- To produce HIV and AIDS IEC material into accessible formats for disabled persons.
- To train visually impaired people the touch to touch use of condoms.
- To provide knowledge on PMTCT to visually impaired parents.
Future Plans:
HIV and Disability Program- slated to begin August 2008. Through its members, LNFOD will coordinate and mange the program which includes experience sharing and networking with relevant groups. Components will include:
- Information-gathering on needs of the deaf community regarding HIV/AIDS, including access to information.
- Translation of HIV informational materials into Braille and providing trainings on condom-use to visually impaired.
- Trainings on life skills and coping strategies for physically disabled children living with HIV/AIDS as well as their families.
- To research living conditions of Disabled people in Lesotho
