The Child and Gender Protection Unit investigates cases of children in need of care and cases of sexual offence for all people. CGPU also provides services to survivors of gender based violence, places abandoned babies safely, and maintains a database of children's cases.
Activities in Lesotho :
In Lesotho, CGPU oversees the CGPU urban branch and CGPU rural branches which has offices in all districts and opens actual cases related to sexual offense, property grabbing, and domestic violence. CGPU's role is to support these units in their handling of cases.
