LCCU is a place of safety, counselling, and psychosocial support of abused children referred by the police. They provide these services for up to 20 sexually abused children while their cases are going through the courts.
LCCU also support OVCs in Mazenod and engage in food growing to provide food for the children and as an income generating activity.
It is one of only two facilities catering for abused children in Lesotho.

Activities in Lesotho :
The LCCU's safe house providing temporary residential care for abused children is in Mazenod, about 12km from the capital, Maseru.
The care includes provision of shelter, continuing educational support, medical attention, play therapy, life skills training. The average stay is 6 months to a year.

Norwegian Support Group - monthly grant used mainly for feeding kids
Canada Fund - support for CWF outreach workers & agricultural work.
Save Children UK (until 2004 when Save the Children closed Lesotho operations)

Firelight Foundation (US) - grant for purchase of land and materials
Kellogg Foundation - grant for food growing
Sentebale - provision of container for office
Local community - volunteering, donations of goods
Irish Aid - one off grant for office furnishings, another pending
